You don’t have to be a Culinary Chef to cook and serve flavorful and mouthwatering Grassfed Beef entrees. Just adapt your cooking habits to accommodate the lower amounts of fat to enjoy meat that is healthy, moist and tender.
1. Don’t Overcook.
- Grassfed cuts are inherently leaner and require about 30% less cooking time than their grain fed counterparts.
- Reduce the cooking temperature 50 degrees to around 275 degrees.
- For grilling, medium to medium rare is ideal. For well done beef eaters, choose an alternate cooking method.
2. Lock in Juices.
- Consider marinating, although not necessary as our beef is wonderful cooked in its own juices. There are many popular marinades currently on the market today or experiment with your own recipe. This makes for great grilling.
- When grilling, use tongs instead of a fork to keep flavorful juices intact.
- For crock-pot cooking, place in crock-pot straight from the freezer. No need to thaw. When done, place in a serving dish with the juices from cooking and allow to rest for 5-8 minutes prior to serving or slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute resulting in a moister meat.
